Absorb9X is composed of coconut coir – a lightweight, organic, and all-natural absorbent material made from the husk of the coconut. Coconut coir contains capillary cells that help to draw in and encapsulate liquids, which prevent them from being released back into the environment.
Additionally, Absorb9X creates an ionic bond with hydrocarbons (the chief components of petroleum-based chemicals), so that even if Absorb9X becomes fully saturated by water, it will draw in and encapsulate the oil/fuel/chemicals, while water is pushed out. Also, Absorb9X expands when in contact with water and is able to hold up to 9x its weight while never biodegrading.
