JBT FoodTech Formula 500 Series Gear Oils are designed for severe-duty conditions where extreme temperatures
can cause serious problems with conventional mineral oil or lesser grade synthetic based gear lubricants. They offer
excellent gear protection and extended service in multiple applications by maintaining consistent viscosity while
incorporating the added benefits of great anti-wear, excellent rust protection and high resistance to the degradation of water and trapped moisture.
Formula 500 Series Gear Oils have a high viscosity index across the board and are additized to be shear-stable and oxidation resistant preventing viscosity loss from mechanical shear and viscosity increase from oxidation. These characteristics along with their extremely low pour points allow for extended temperature protection and performance, especially in the severe environments surrounding freezing equipment found in food processing.
These oils will hold their fluid properties longer as temperatures drop. They aid in easier start-ups and quicker lubrication circulation limiting the need for ramping up or use of sump heaters. When temperatures rise during C-I-P, sanitation or drying cycles, Formula 500 Series Gear Oils maintain a thick lubricating film reducing metal-to-metal contact and gearing component wear. The additive package is non-detergent and ashless and has included foam suppressants. Formula 500 Series Gear Oils exhibit excellent stability in the presence of water and superior demulsibility, which allows for the easy separation of water making draining off excess water an easy operation.
