Krytox™ TS4 sealant is designed for use on various metal and plastic surfaces and can be used in lieu of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tape. In contrast to PTFE tape, which needs to be removed before reapplication, Krytox™ TS4 sealant can be reapplied over existing thread sealant.
It contains no volatile organic compound (VOC) content or hydrocarbon and is safe for oxygen use with no auto-ignition temperature.
Krytox™ TS4 is effective for a number of reasons. It clings to threads and will not shred or tear on assembly or disassembly. It cannot plug or restrict critical piping, valves, or instruments, which is often a problem with tape solids.
