LUBRODAL F 901 is a water-based graphitic lubricant for use in the hot forging of steel alloys. LUBRODAL F 901 is formulated with colloidal graphite and other additives to provide excellent tool coverage, good wetting of hot tool surfaces, good metal movement, and superior release.
LUBRODAL F 901 is a versatile forging lubricant for use with a broad spectrum of shapes (complex or simple), sizes and weights of billets.
Field of application:
LUBRODAL F 901 is sold as a concentrate. For most applications LUBRODAL F 901 is diluted with water to achieve the correct concentration for a specific forging operation. Prior to dilution LUBRODAL F 901 should be mixed to uniformity.
Guidelines for Dilution:
Complicated pieces involving difficult operations: 2-5 parts water : 1 part LUBRODAL F 901
Standard forging operations: 5-8 parts water : 1 part LUBRODAL F 901
Simple parts/Shallow cavities or rib sections: 8-15 parts water : 1 part LUBRODAL F 901

**Castrol Molub-Alloy 491 C was discontinued by Castrol in September 2021.
