Castrol has developed EDGE 5W-30 for European Diesels in co-operation with the VW Group.
This oil sets new standards in the industry in regards to cleanliness of the engine, thereby reducing harmful emissions and subsequent
damage to the environment.
The technology in this oil also reduces long term blocking thereby prolonging the life of the diesel particulate filter.
Application
EDGE 5W-30 is suitable for use in automotive gasoline and diesel cars where the manufacturer recommends an ACEA C3 5W-30 lubricant
including those fitted with a diesel particulate filter.
EDGE 5W-30 is approved for use in VW Group vehicles including those on variable interval servicing that require a VW 504 00/ 507
00 lubricant.
EDGE 5W-30 also fulfills the requirements for vehicles that required the an oil approved to the former VW 503 01 specification.
EDGE 5W-30 is also approved for use in modern BMW and Mercedes gasoline and diesel engines including those equiped with a DPF that
require BMW Long life -04 or MB-Approval 229.51 specifications.
